Cosmate^®LBA,Lactobionic Acid,4-O-beta-D-Galactopyranosyl-D-gluconic acid is characterized by antioxidant activity and supports repair mechanisms. Perfectly soothes irritations and inflammation of the skin, known for its soothing and reducing redness properties, it can be used to care for sensitive areas, as well as for acne skin. Cosmate^®LBA,Lactobionic Acid is non-irritating Polyhydroxy Acid derived from milk sugar. Lactobionic Acid is an aldonic acid obtained from the oxidation of lactose and comprises of a galactose moiety linked to a gluconic acid molecule via an ether-like linkage.Lactobionic Acid helps prevent and reverse the appearance of photoaging, including lines and wrinkles, uneven pigmentation, enlarged pores and roughness. A potent antioxidant used to prevent oxidative damage to transplant organs, Lactobionic Acid protects the skin against photoaging by inhibiting the MMP enzymes that degrade the skin's structure and strength. A natural humectant, it binds water to create a moisturizing barrier on skin, providing softness and a velvety smoothness. This ingredient is suitable for all skin types and can be used after procedures. Cosmate^®LBA,Lactobionic Acid is a type of Polyhydroxy Acid(PHA) that can exfoliate skin,it is chemically and functionally similar to AHAs(e.g Glycolic Acid),but the significant difference between Lactobionic Acid and AHAs is that Lactobionic Acid has a larger molecular structure which limits its ability to penetrate the skin,resulting in less potential for stinging.
