Cosmate®SM, Silymarin, a natural flavonoid lignan compound, is extracted from the dried fruit of milk thistle, a plant in the asteraceae family. Its main components are silybin, isosilybin, silydianin and silychristin. Cosmate®SM,Silymarin is insoluble in water, easily soluble in acetone, ethyl acetate, methanol ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform.
