Skin Moisturizing Antioxidant Active Ingredient Squalene

Cosmate® SQE Squalene, an olefin found in a wide variety of foods, best known for its high content in shark liver oil, which accounts for more than 40% of the total shark glycerol content. Other sources include vegetable oils such as olive oil, wild jasmine seed oil, and rice bran oil. Cosmate® SQE Squalene is a colorless, oily liquid with a distinctive odor. It is insoluble in water, naturally active, and easily oxidized. Its unique properties make it a versatile and valuable ingredient in different fields, offering a wide range of applications in cosmetics, nutraceuticals, and pharmaceuticals. Cosmate® SQE Squalene, a premium skincare ingredient originally sourced from the liver of deep sea sharks. While squalene occurs naturally in various plants, it is usually found in very small amounts, typically making up less than 5% of the unsaponifiable matter in plant oils. Notably, wild jasmine seed oil contains more squalene than olive oil and rice bran oil. Additionally, squalene is abundant in human skin and subcutaneous tissue, making it highly biocompatible and effective in enhancing skin hydration, elasticity, and overall health.
